Fragile
fern is a small, airy plant with bright
green, frilly fronds. It is one of the first ferns to send up
fiddleheads in the spring.

Sun:
part to full shade
Soil: rich loam, neutral to acidic
Moisture: moist
Height: 6-10 inches
Uses: Tuck individual plants into crevices in
a rock garden, or plant in drifts as groundcover. Although the fronds
break easily—the reason for the "fragile" in its
name—the plant quickly produces new fronds. The plant goes
dormant during dry spells but reemerges when conditions are favorable
again.
